Sarah Smith

Sarah Smith is a senior majoring in Middle East Studies and Political Science from Knoxville, Tennessee. Her main academic interests are the formulation, implementation, and effect of U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. With the help of last year’s Elaine Evans Scholarship as well as other institutional aid, Sarah has been able to study and travel in Jordan, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates. Most recently, she completed a State Department internship at the U.S. Consulate in Dubai. Sarah has accepted a 2018-2019 Boren Language Award and is looking forward to returning to Jordan for the upcoming summer and fall semesters.
